Learn why rural and remote areas face unique transportation challenges
-
Explore how solar energy can help power EVs
-
Build empathy for communities with fewer resources
Key Concepts (Student-Friendly)

Classroom Activity: Powering a Remote Community
Students work in small groups and are given a fictional remote town. Each town has:
-
Long distances
-
Few buildings
-
Limited power supply
Students decide:
-
Where electricity comes from
-
Where an EV charger could be placed
-
How solar panels might help
Groups draw or describe their solutions.
Discussion Questions
-
Why might gas be more expensive in remote areas?
-
Why would solar power be helpful in places far from cities?
-
Should rural communities get different support than cities?
Optional Extension
Students imagine a day in the life of someone living in a remote town with an EV.
